Maria Wacuka is the Managing Partner of the firm and Head of the Real Estate and Conveyancing Practice, providing strategic leadership while overseeing a broad portfolio of property and commercial matters. She plays a central role in shaping the firm’s direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-focused legal services.

She has extensive experience in real estate and conveyancing, advising on complex property transactions, structuring developments and managing end-to-end conveyancing processes. Her work includes acting for individuals, developers and investors, including international clients and members of the diaspora seeking to acquire and manage property interests in Kenya.

Maria also brings a strong commercial background, with experience in banking and finance matters, including advising on secured lending transactions, preparation and review of security instruments and structuring of financing arrangements. In addition, she advises on trusts and estate-related structures, supporting clients in asset protection and long-term planning.

She has been instrumental in advising clients on environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters, including the development of ESG policies and delivery of training and capacity building initiatives to support responsible and sustainable business practices.

Maria is a Certified Company Secretary and assists clients with corporate governance and compliance matters, including maintenance of statutory registers, preparation of board and shareholder resolutions, annual filings and advisory on governance frameworks to ensure businesses remain compliant and well-structured.
